Two Industry Leaders Unite

Hammerton is thrilled to formally announce its acquisition of Lightspann, a leading U.S. lighting designer and manufacturer best known for its award-winning creations in all forms of artisan glass. Since 1991, Lightspann’s sculptural works have illuminated the interiors of leading restaurants, hotels, resorts, casinos, corporate headquarters, country clubs and some of the most beautiful homes in North America.

“Together, Lightspann and Hammerton offer an unusual alchemy that’s entirely unique in our industry,” says Hammerton president Bill Shott. “Our combined world-class expertise in glass and metal lays the foundation for groundbreaking innovation in custom lighting.”

Adds Lightspann founder Christina Spann, “This new relationship is a win-win for both companies. Hammerton clients now have access to unmatched capabilities in glass, while Lightspann clients will benefit from Hammerton’s industry-leading operational excellence and marketing strength.”

Over the last two decades, Lightspann has earned a reputation for solving large-scale design challenges with innovative solutions that showcase the company’s extraordinary glass expertise. Additional capabilities developed in metals, fabrics and woods have inspired further design innovation. Today, many of Lightspann’s most popular designs feature signature combinations of artisan-crafted materials that are unique within the custom lighting industry.

Lightspann’s recent client roster includes leading luxury resort brands such as the Ritz-Carlton, Fairmont and JW Marriott, restaurant brands owned by Wolfgang Puck, Pat Kuleto and the Cheesecake Factory, and casino brands Harrah’s and Bally. Residential clients include numerous well-known entertainers, politicians, executives and entrepreneurs.

While the Lightspann brand and marketing programs will remain separate, all manufacturing and operations will be consolidated in Hammerton’s Salt Lake City headquarters. Christina Spann will head the company’s field office in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she will focus her talents exclusively on product design.

Bill, Christina, and Hammerton lead designer Levi Wilson look forward to what the future holds. “Interior designers, architects and industry specifiers will be excited to see what’s ‘in store’ at Lightspann and Hammerton over the coming months,” Says Wilson. “We’ve got a number of very exciting developments underway that will raise a few eyebrows.”
